Flower Grand Prix - National competition in floral design
The Flower Grand Prix is a floral design competition held during Elmia Garden, where the country's top florists—both elite and novices—gather to compete in floral design.
Top Three in the Elite Class 2024
On October 2, 2024, Sweden's best florists competed in the elite class of the Flower Grand Prix. The winner was Lina Supstiks from Prinsgatans Blomsteraffär. Second place went to Marinette Månsson from Blomsterdekoratören, and third place to Emma Hansson from Prinsgatans Blomsteraffär.
Top Three in the Novice Class 2024
On October 3, 2024, the novice class of the Flower Grand Prix was decided. The winner was Agnes Jansson from Gäddeholms Trädgård, with second place going to Kelly Furlan from Jaffa Blommor, and third place to Carolina Håkansson from Kyrkhultsblomman.
The Competition
Participants undertake two secret assignments during the Flower Grand Prix, revealed at the start of the competition. Day one features the elite competition, and day two the novice competition. Inspiration and color schemes are drawn from one of the current trends in Elmia Garden Trends.
Competition Leader and Judges
The competition leader for the Flower Grand Prix is Nicklas Jensen. In 2024, Margareta Kronman also served as a competition leader.
The judges for the Flower Grand Prix 2024 were star florists Per Benjamin and Heidi Mikkonen. They judged both the elite class and the novice class.
The assignments are evaluated through a blind judging process, meaning the judges do not know which florist created which piece. Each category—color, composition, idea, and technique—can receive up to 25 points. The evaluation considers composition rules, grouping techniques, rhythm, balance, proportions, external shape, color transitions, creativity, stability, and firmness.
