Here, visitors and exhibitors have met for three days to learn about the latest innovations, exchange experiences, make new contacts and build cross-border networks.
- It is extremely valuable to have a fair where you find many contact surfaces in place at the same time, says Magnus Ringqvist, Exhibition Manager for Elmia Nordic Rail and continues;
- The railway is to Sweden what blood vessels are to the body. If we are to have a functioning oxygenation of Sweden, we must have functioning blood vessels. In this parable, Elmia Nordic Rail is the industry's recurring training camp.
Since 1995, Elmia Nordic Rail has brought together exhibitors in the railway industry, ranging from vehicles, construction and consultants to supplies, BEST, maintenance and monitoring.
- This fair is not only about selling your product, but it is equally important to meet and network between exhibitors and visitors, says Magnus Ringqvist.
Tech Talks - the industry-wide key issues were raised in the open stage program all days of the fair. One topic was the capacity of our main lines, others were sustainability and skills supply.
Career Forum - the fair's focus on competence supply. Employers were given the opportunity to introduce themselves to around 40 students, before moving on to a speed dating session that gave participants the chance to get to know each other a little better in their search for a new job and new colleagues.
Among the 145 exhibitors at this year's Elmia Nordic Rail was Elektroskandia, a leading electrical engineering wholesaler with the railway industry as an important customer group.
- I have been to Elmia Nordic Rail as a visitor before and felt that this could be the right arena for us to become even more visible. I did not really know what to expect, but the feeling is that we have managed to get a good dialog with our visitors, says Dan-Erik Danielsson, Marketing Manager.
As a new exhibitor at the fair, Elektroskandia took the opportunity to highlight its targeted range for the railways in areas such as telecom, lighting, safety, electrical installations and power materials.
- We see that we can expand our commitment to the railway industry and make our range visible to a broader customer group. Therefore, it was important for us to be here as we see Elmia Nordic Rail as a good arena for our offer," says Dan-Erik Danielsson.
New exhibitors included BLS Rail, which specializes in the rental of locomotives and has a special product area in spare parts and advice. An area in which there is a growing need to keep Swedish locomotives running and reliable.
- We have seen a very good pressure of visitors. All major Swedish railway companies have been here and we have also met a lot of foreign stakeholders. The personal meeting is important and Elmia Nordic Rail has become a meeting place. You don't sell a compressor at Teams, you have to meet face to face," says Peter Alsén, Safety Manager at BLS Rail.
Now Elmia Nordic Rail is aiming for 2025, specifically October 7-9. Then the fair will celebrate 30 years and it will be marked with an anniversary.
