- "We have strengthened our position as the Nordic region's leading trade fair for production technology with a stronger visitor result than two years ago," says Mikael Ström, Business Manager, Elmia Machine Tools, Elmia Sheet Metal and Elmia 3D.
- "It has been an important goal for us to increase the number of visitors, especially from Sweden and the Nordic countries, and we have succeeded," says Mikael Ström.
A lot of people and a great feeling on the exhibition floor, that's how Bengt Johansson, Business Manager Elmia Polymer, Elmia Automation and Elmia Welding and Joining Technology, summarizes his impression of the days:
- "We have seen an incredible amount of interest in visiting all six fairs. And we have had a strong commitment from all our exhibitors with lots of activities in all halls and aisles, says Bengt Johansson.
Among other things, more than 150 events have been organized on the various stages of Elmia Production Fairs and several industry players have chosen to present prizes and awards in connection with the fairs. The Goldhand award, established by Automation magazine, was presented for the first time to the winners Monika Miljanovic from ABB, who received the award for "Young Automation Leader of the Year" and Sics AI received the award for "Automation Innovation of the Year". SVEAT, the industry association for additive manufacturing in Sweden, also awarded prizes in its Design Challenge 2024 competition, where the first prize went to Simon Dybeck for his 3D-printed espresso maker with multifunctional parts.
The Swedish Plastics Industry Association, SPIF, awarded the prize for Machine Manufacturer of the Year 2024 - an award that was received with great pleasure by JMC Industriteknik, exhibitor at Elmia Polymer.
- "We are also very pleased with the fair this year, especially that there are so many more exhibitors at Elmia Polymer. The broader the support of the industry, the more interesting it is for visitors to come," says Magnus Tibratt, Marketing Manager at JMC.
Machine Manufacturer of the Year 2024 - JMC Industriteknik - which was also an exhibitor at Elmia Polymer. The award was presented by the Swedish Plastics Industry Federation (SPIF), co-organizers of Elmia Polymer.
A new feature for this year was the Competence Arena, a single area with a focus on skills and exhibiting companies that are actively working on training issues and skills supply.
- The resource gap with industry must be reduced. It is important that we, as fair organizers, do what we can to reduce that gap," says Mikael Ström.
This year we have made specific efforts to reach out to a younger audience and also attract more women to the industry.
- For example, a Girls Corner was organized in Competence Arena and we have highlighted several female role models in the industry, for example through our initiative with live broadcasts from Morgonsoffan ("The Morning Sofa"). We have also picked up CNC influencers and given a lot of space to the Swedish youth championship in CNC technology that took place on the exhibition floor," says Mikael.
The winners of the Swedish youth championship in CNS turning and CNC milling were announced on the Main Stage of Elmia Production Fairs. The winners will participate in the National Professional Team in Shanghai 2026.
A novelty for this year's Elmia Production Fairs was also the AI arena, which highlighted new industry-related trends in the latest technological developments with concrete examples of how to solve complex problems and streamline processes in industry.
- An exciting novelty this year was our theme walks organized in collaboration with Almi. During a guided tour, visitors could visit selected exhibitors who talked about how they work with our three themes Smart Industry, Sustainable Industry and Adaptable Industry," says Bengt Johansson.
When exhibiting companies sum up the days of the fair, the common denominator is faith in the future and business opportunities. Mikael Sohlberg, EOS Nordic AB, is pleased with the development of Elmia 3D, which has grown continuously with more exhibitors.
- "This fair fulfils a good function as a meeting place for the industry. We have an enormous breadth in our industry and an equally enormous need for this type of manufacturing, says Mikael.
- "We have had concrete dialogues about future investments in a way that we are not really used to. I get the feeling of a pent-up need and the next fair feels promising, says Mikael Sohlberg, Sales Manager EOS Nordic.

The experts in sensor solutions for industry, SICK AB, are pleased with the outcome of their participation at Elmia Automation. Their new sensor solution for collaborative robots, End-Of-Arm-Tooling, has received a lot of attention.
- "The sensor detects if a person or something else gets in the way of the robot arm, which then stops," explains Hamza Boujrad, Application Specialist, SICK.
The visitors included end customers, machine builders and automation integrators.
- "Our new Inspector 830 vision camera has also received a lot of attention for its ability to inspect, measure and detect with learning via AI. It's really hot right now," says Hamza.

WhizCut AB met visitors to Elmia Machine Tools with a packed stand where, among other things, they showed the benefits you can achieve by using the WhizTwin cut-off blade, which drastically reduces both material consumption and CO2 emissions in production.
They also premiered the EvoFlex 3 universal chuck, which significantly reduces set-up times during retrimming.
- "This is a product you really need to squeeze and feel to understand how easy it is to change," says Chris Smith, CEO of WhizCut.
Throughout the fair, there has been a good flow of visitors.
- "This feels like the best fair for us so far. We really accelerated before the fair and have been able to show more products than ever before, says Chris.
Less shavings and more detail with the right choice of parting line. WhizCut showed sustainable green solutions in its stand at Elmia Machine Tools.
For EAGLE, known for its fast and efficient laser cutting machines, this year's Elmia Sheet Metal has exceeded all expectations.
- The visitor pressure has been extremely good and the interest extremely high for our machines. We have boosted our efforts here considerably and we have received at least five really hot quality leads. It is extremely good and we are very pleased, says Jesper Madsby, Area Sales Manager, EAGLE Scandinavia.
- "We expect to work with the results of this fair for the next six months.

3M - one of the well-known exhibitors at Elmia Welding and Joining Technology believes that the visitor pressure has been positive.
- We are satisfied! We have had a good launch of our new welding masks and our new grinding products, says Sune Hägglund, sales representative north.
His colleague Carina Haglund, application engineer, continues:
- "The big thing with our new welding helmets, 3M Speedglas G5-03 Pro Air, is that we have introduced a tap function that allows you to tap the helmet three times and jump between grinding and welding functions.
3M launched several new products on the exhibition floor during Elmia Welding and Joining Technology, including a new upgraded welding mask, say Sune Hägglund and Carina Haglund.
