Holmberg Cases Sweden AB is situated in Haparanda, close to 140 kilometers from Elmia in Jönköping. Despite the distance, they have for over 20 years exhibited their solutions and products at Elmia Subcontractor, a prioritized marketing effort each year. Henric Sulonen works as a salesperson at the company, and believes that the "real meeting" is unbeatable when it comes to doing business, despite all the digital solutions of today.

Holmberg Cases Sweden manufactures customized flight cases, and has been on the market for close to 50 years. Initially the company focused on solutions for the music industry, but over the years they have broadened the product range and today their customers can be found in all imaginable branches where industry, technology and sports are the largest. Henric Sulonen is a salesperson at the company, and explains further: 

Our production is, and has always been, situated in Haparanda - all our flight cases are designed and built here. The largest part are completely customer-unique units, both single products and larger series. We put a large effort into the end product meeting the customer's wishes and requirements, and everyone here at our company works according to our watchwords quality and sustainability.

“A perfect meeting place for like-minded people”

Due to the company's geographical location, the majority of their customers are quite far away. In order to be able to maintain relations with existing customers, and gain new contacts, the fair as a meeting place is an ideal form of marketing for the company. Henric Sulonen elaborates:

We started exhibiting at Elmia to reach new customer groups and naturally meet customers located further south of Sweden. If you operate in Haparanda, as we do, the Elmia Subcontractor fair is a perfect place to meet and keep in touch with both new customers and suppliers. We are always hungry for new exciting projects and customer solutions, and we feel that Elmia is a perfect meeting place for like-minded people.

Focusing on the genuine encounter

Holmberg cases is one of the exhibiting companies at Elmia Subcontractor that travels the longest distance within Sweden to participate in the fair. How is it, that during this digital era people still invest money and time in the physical meeting at a trade fair? Henric Sulonen tells more:

For us at Holmberg cases, we partake as exhibitors in two major marketing events during the year, and that is Elmia Subcontractor and Alihankinta in Tampere, Finland. Given that we work with the digital meeting for a large part of the year, it is always good to come down and also meet face to face. Digitization is of course good for us when we have a lot of customers down south, but I still feel that the "real" meeting has an important place when it comes to establishing business and contacts and showing off our product.
